Donald J. Buchsbaum, Ph.D.

Donald J. Buchsbaum, Professor of Radiation Oncology is part of the research funded by the Robert E. Reed Foundation.

Dr. Buchsbaum has been at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for 23 years as a leading researcher in the Division of Radiation Oncology. He has authored over 200 manuscripts in GI oncology, sits on the review boards of several national and international research organizations, and has received funding from both the National Institutes of Health as well as from the private sector.

Dr. Buchsbaum recently joined into a collaborative research endeavor with the Section of Surgical Oncology. His research focuses on cell death mechanisms of various GI cancers as well as breast cancers with a focus on developing translational therapies for immediate patient care.
