Martin J. Heslin M.D.
Professor of Surgery, Martin J. Heslin, MD leads the research funded by the Reed Foundation.
Dr. Heslin is the Director of the Multidisciplinary Gastrointestinal Oncology Clinic at The Kirklin Clinic, which was created to provide all complex gastrointestinal cancer patients with a truly multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of their disease.
In November 2007, Dr. Heslin was named Associate Director for Clinical Programs at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Clinic. He is responsible for managing and refining the integrated Multidisciplinary Clinical Care Program (IMCCP) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Comprehensive Cancer Center, which aims to monitor and coordinate clinical programs to ensure smooth, efficient, patient-centered clinic and doctor visits.
Dr. Heslin is also the Chief of the Section for Surgical Oncology at UAB, Associate Chief of Staff at UAB Hospital, and Associate Scientist at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center where he specializes in the research and treatment for gastrointestinal cancers.
