"The doctor looked at me and said, ‘I wish you had come sooner.’ - I thought it was over."
That was Nancy Pearson’s personal introduction to cancer. After a colonoscopy that she had been putting off for years, those were the words she woke up to. But Nancy Pearson didn’t give up. She found Dr. Marty Heslin, and through his guidance and a strong network of family and friends supporting her throughout her operations and treatment, Nancy is a nine-year survivor of rectal cancer. Now a semi-retired school teacher, she now works with children who need extra care in reading comprehension.
