UAB Dept of Surgery International Scholars Program
A collaboration between the Robert E. Reed Gastrointestinal Oncology Research Foundation, the UAB Department of Surgery, and the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición in Mexico City, Mexico, that allows chief residents from Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición to spend two months at UAB observing patient care within the divisions of the Department of Surgery as well as researching and publishing a related article. This collaboration has been in existence since the mid to late 1980’s and has proved itself invaluable to those who have participated.
